Omkar Dadarkar, former scholar of SRA trained by Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar and Vidushi Girija Devi, is now a Guru with the Academy and has reinvented his style recently as a very effective and matured vocalist. Shri Omkar Shrikant Dadarkar was born on 30 July 1977 at Mumbai. He inherited the art of Music as a family tradition and was initiated into the art by his parents, Shri Shrikant Dadarkar and Smt. Shubhada Dadarkar. Further, he received training under Shri Ram Deshpande, Smt. Manik Verma and from Shri Yashwanthbua Joshi of Gwalior Gharana under the Guru Shishya Parampara scheme of Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre. Selected as a scholar at I.T.C. Sangeet Research Academy in 1999, he also received advanced training under the tutelage of Shri Ulhas Kashalkar. He was trained in light classical music by legendary musician Smt. Girija Devi and Shri Shrinivas Khale. He completed Sangeet Alankar from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. Shri Omkar Shrikant Dadarkar has performed in several prestigious music festivals in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Kanpur, Lucknow and also got opportunity to present his art abroad. He has been duly awarded for his talent with the Vidyasagar Award from music forum. Shri Omkar Shrikant Dadarkar is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2009 for his notable talent in the field of Hindustani Vocal Music.
